We’ve been having a bit of a play in the showroom this week, and we think we’ve landed on a pairing we’re genuinely excited about.
It started with a mini cobble mosaic we spotted back on the shelves: a softly tumbled little square in real Crema Marfil marble (the actual stone, not a look-alike!). It’s got all that warm, honey-cream movement you get in genuine marble, with just enough tumbling on the edges to take the shine off and give it a lovely worn, matte finish.
We felt like it belonged with our tumbled-edge French pattern floor tile: a proper contrast in scale without a clash in colour, which is exactly the kind of pairing that makes a bathroom feel put together rather than picked from a catalogue.
Then came the tapware, and this is the bit we’ve genuinely been waiting for: Nero’s new Tumbled Antique Brass!! We’ve had our eye on this colour for a while and it’s finally landed. It’s got that soft, lived-in brass warmth rather than a hard polished shine, so it sits beautifully against the marble instead of fighting for attention.
We finished the whole look with a rustic concrete basin from Sticks & Stone in a neutral tone that’s almost a tonal match for the mosaic. Round, softly textured, sitting on a floating oak vanity with an arched brass-framed mirror
above it: it’s a simple combination but it makes the whole wall feel considered.
We’re calling this one truly organic: real stone, real texture, and a tapware colour with a bit of soul instead of anything that looks stamped out. If you’re planning a bathroom and want to see the mosaic and the French pattern tile side by side, or get a look at that new Antique Brass in person, pop into the showroom. We’d love to show you!
